The Bahraini Embassy in London hosted a reception for officials from the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) during their trip to the UK to strengthen ties of cooperation with educational and cultural institutions, which included boarding schools and universities, and to meet with the CPISP scholars in the UK.
The Bahraini Ambassador to London HE Ms. Alice Samaan received CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling and a number of CPISP scholars studying or working in the UK, praising the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to develop Bahraini youth and set up educational and training programs to enhance their talents and capabilities. She also praised the Program’s objectives to provide the best educational opportunities to outstanding students to study at top international universities.
Dr. Gessling and CPISP UK Higher Education Advisor Mrs. Ava Garbutt gave a presentation at the reception on the Program’s latest developments, and some of the Program’s scholars spoke about their personal experiences and achievements as a result of receiving the Crown Prince’s scholarship.
The reception was also attended by senior members of the Bahrain Society, a friendship society formed in the 60’s and formally established in 1972, which aims to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation between the people of Bahrain and the UK.
The CPISP Director thanked the Bahraini Ambassador for her warm reception and continued cooperation with the Program.
Present at the reception was the Bahraini Cultural Counsellor Mr. Subah Alzayani and Chairman of the Bahrain Society, Brigadier Peter Sincock.
