The Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) began the first of a series of visits to private schools to announce the deadline and application procedures required for its 2015 scholarships.
CPISP officials met with Naseem International School officials and students who met the Program’s application criteria, which require applicants to have Bahraini citizenship, be enrolled in the 11th grade and/or set to graduate from secondary school in 2015, and have a cumulative GPA of 97% or above for grade 10 and the first semester of grade 11.
CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling announced that the application submission period for 2015 scholarships will be from 9 – 27 March 2014. She explained that applying for the CPISP’s 2015 scholarships is a two step process that first involves submitting an application to the Court of the Crown Prince during the submission period. Students who meet the Program’s application criteria will then be contacted to sit for a series of qualifying tests organized by the CPISP in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).
Dr. Gessling affirmed that a minimum of 60 students will be selected to join the CPISP Candidacy Program, and will include 40 students from Ministry of Education Schools and 20 students from private schools. The candidacy stage will involve training in cooperation with BIBF, as well as courses in preparation for the IELTS and SAT exams, after which the final ten scholarship recipients will be selected.
Dr. Gessling added that in addition to the private school visits, the Program will organize presentations, in coordination with the Ministry of Education, for all governmental school students who meet the Program’s application criteria.
